Welcome From the SBCDC President Fourth of July with the O'Malleys

Dear Friends:

Welcome to the online site of the Southwest Baltimore County Democratic Club and thank you for your interest. We are a dynamic organization consisting of Democrats of all backgrounds and viewpoints looking to make a difference in southwestern Baltimore County.

In 2005, the Southwest Baltimore County Democratic Club expanded its presence in the community by leaps and bounds. We co-founded the Democratic Service Coalition, a consortium of Democratic Clubs united in Community Service throughout the country. As such, we held a park cleanup in Patapsco State Park, a street cleanup prior to the 4th of July Parades in Arbutus and Catonsville, a Blood Drive in the Banneker Community Center, a canned food drive, and collections for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We hosted some great social events, including a bull roast, a picnic, and a holiday party. Lastly, we participated in such community events as the Democratic Unity Day in Annapolis, the 4th of July Parades in Arbutus and Catonsville, and the Catonsville Arts and Crafts Fair.

2006 will be a very busy year for us. In addition to our participation in the community, we also have several elections in the fall, where we hope to elect and re-elect Democrats to many offices in all levels of government from the local to the state to the federal. We are certainly up to the challenge of helping Democrats win election.

To maintain awareness of the club, the SBCDC has set up several committees including Programs and Events, Fundraising, Elections/Voter Registration, and Publicity/Website. We are also looking to establish a Membership Committee. These committees will work hard to ensure that the SBCDC remains a visible presence in Southwest Baltimore County. If you are interested in joining any of these committees, or learning more about them, please feel free to contact me or any of the Committee Chairs.

Once again, thank you for your interest in the SBCDC, and in making a difference. If you are a Democrat living south of I-70 in Baltimore County, feel free to come on out to our next meeting. Regardless of political experience or viewpoints on the political spectrum, you will find yourself more than welcome with the SBCDC.
